When making an appointment to come to Eastwood Podiatry Clinic as a private patient, no referral is required. However if you are receiving treatment from a service provider (Veteran Affairs, Medicare, Workers Compensation or Third Party) a referral from your doctor will be required at the time of appointment.
All Veteran Affairs gold card holders are eligible to receive podiatry services. The cost of services will be billed directly to Veteran Affairs. You are required to get a D904 referral from your GP. Some white card holders may be eligible depending on your doctors advice.
Medicare (Enhanced Primary Care Plan)
You are eligible to receive podiatry treatment under Medicare if your doctor deems you suitable. Generally, you have to be suffering from a chronic condition or have an incapability of caring for your own feet. This a Federal Government funded initiative which allows suitable candidates to be referred with a maximum of 5 podiatry visits in a given year. You will be required to pay a set fee at the appointment and you then claim back the scheduled fee at any Medicare office on producing your receipt. We do not bulk bill.
Workers Compensation / Third Party
You can be referred by a doctor, employer or case manager, from the appropriate insurance company, for advice and treatment from Eastwood Podiatry Clinic. You must have a claim number, referral and a pre-approval for your initial appointment. Further treatment can be arranged by your Podiatrist depending on what is required.
Private Health Funds
HICAPS is available at Eastwood Podiatry Clinic. This will allow you to make an on-the-spot claim to your health fund and you will only have to pay the remaining gap at the time of appointment. This will save you having to claim directly from your health fund at a later time. Approximately half of the consultation fee will be covered, sometimes more and sometimes less. You are responsible for enquiring about your level of cover and whether your fund is covered under HICAPS prior to your appointment.
Modes of Payment
Eastwood Podiatry Clinic accepts Cash, EFTPOS, most major Credit Cards (not Amex), or Cheque. All appointments and gaps must be paid for at the time of consultation.
